So let’s talk some summer strategies for staying sober when everyone’s on Summer Fridays.
There’s SO much sober stuff to do.
Strategies for BBQ’s:
Bring your own beverages to BBQ’s
Leave when it’s gremlin hour
Things to do in leiu of Summer Fridays:
Walk the High Line
Get a pedi/mani and spring for the extra massage
Cook dinner for friends at your place
Visit museums and cloisters
Schedule some self care. Get a massage.
If your company offers “happy hour” type activities on Fridays.
Ask straight up if you can leave
Lie. You might have a doctor’s appointment, or have to run an errand and excuse yourself
Level with your boss and be honest that you don’t drink and ask if you can be excused.
Don’t be afraid to meet new people and try new things. Give yourself some space this summer.
