This week Kate and Jes discuss how they are affected by other people’s drinking. While they don’t necessarily miss drinking, or alcohol, they definitely miss the going out vibe. Jes and Kate lament about feeling guilty for taking up space at a bar and not ordering alcohol.
They discuss being the Babysitter for friends who are still drinking, and how that can be tricky and annoying, and reflect upon how difficult that must have been for those taking care of them during the drinking years.
Jes discusses issues that came up with her family, and chats about feeling loved when friends go out of their way to be accommodating to her sobriety.
While Kate misses getting dressed up to “go out” to meet her husband, she’s created safe boundaries because he still drinks.
